WWF Wildlife - Environmental Branding Design and Marketing
WWF Wildlife approached us to develop two packaging designs - one for their koala adoption program and one for general use. The brief came with a clear responsibility: the packaging needed to be engaging and educational while remaining genuinely kind to the environment. As an organisation deeply committed to conservation, it was essential that the design solution aligned with WWF’s values, minimising environmental impact while still creating a meaningful experience for both children and families. Our Strategic Contribution: Our approach focused on reducing material and ink usage without compromising creativity or engagement. We developed illustration-led designs using fine black line art only, significantly limiting ink coverage while maintaining visual interest and storytelling. The packaging was printed on recyclable, environmentally friendly craft stock to further support sustainability goals.
Inside the boxes, we designed informational content and prompts encouraging reuse - extending the life of the packaging beyond its initial purpose. The artwork was intentionally created to be interactive: both designs can be coloured in, while the general package includes a playful challenge for younger children to find all the adopted animals hidden within the illustration. The result is a thoughtful, low-impact packaging solution that educates, engages and reinforces WWF’s conservation message -proving that responsible design can still be creative, memorable and meaningful.
