Blue Mountain Initiative - Beverage Branding Design and Marketing
Blue Mountain Initiative was created with a dual purpose: to introduce a distinctive canned gin to market while actively supporting conservation efforts following the devastating 2019 bushfires. Founder Brooke was driven by a desire to give back, with proceeds contributing to the protection and recovery of Blue Mountains koalas. The brand needed to balance premium beverage positioning with genuine environmental storytelling - communicating care, impact and quality without feeling overstated. Our Strategic Contribution: Our role was to translate this meaningful mission into a packaging design that felt both refined and emotionally resonant. We created a hand-sketched koala illustration nestled within a lush eucalyptus tree, anchoring the design in place, purpose and compassion. This hero illustration became the visual centrepiece of the brand, reinforcing its conservation message at shelf level. We then designed packaging across four distinct flavours, using vibrant graduated colourways to clearly differentiate each variant while maintaining a cohesive brand system. The result is a considered, high-impact packaging solution that connects product and purpose - inviting consumers to engage not just with the gin, but with the cause behind it.
